About Us
About Astherlau
Astherlau is a Kitchen & Home Basics shop run from COLUMBUS, OH. We stock the plain, hard-working end of the home: the tools you reach for before breakfast, the containers that turn a crowded cupboard back into storage, the mug that survives years of the dishwasher, and the brushes and cloths that keep the rest of it clean.
There is no theme here beyond usefulness. We are not trying to redecorate your kitchen; we are trying to make the twenty minutes a day you spend in it slightly less annoying.
What we sell
The catalogue is deliberately narrow. Four shelves, nothing spare:
How something earns a place
We would rather stock one good peeler than nine versions of the same drawer clutter, so every listing has to clear the same short test before it goes up.
- Used more than once a week. Single-purpose gadgets that live at the back of a drawer do not make the cut.
- Measurements published. Storage pieces carry their dimensions in inches and centimetres, and telescopic items give the full range, because the shelf either fits or it does not.
- Materials named. Stainless steel, silicone, bamboo, glass, food-grade plastic — we say which, along with heat ratings and care instructions where the maker states them.
- No manual required. If a tool needs explaining before it can be used, it is the wrong tool.
