Asther Lau

Hello!

I am a Malaysian female photographer based in Kuala Lumpur/Selangor that loves any kind of photography listing from nature to skyscrapers, especially portraitures for newborn babies, toddlers, pregnant families, couples & families as well as weddings & events.

I am also an avid scuba diver which enables me to capture amazing underwater images from all around the world.

This blog follows both my professional life (as well as) some of my personal life, featuring MOMENTS from the maternity & newborn sessions, weddings & beautiful people I managed to capture with my lens, the places I travel and the friends and family members that mean so much to me.

This blog will also serve as my photography website, featuring my work & information of available services from yours truly. :)

It also contains random information source for my current and potential clients as I’ll (from time to time) provide some useful links of wedding tips & what-nots for your ”surfing” pleasures. I hope this blog will also be a source of inspiration and education for other photographers.

This site is a little more informal and I just want to give everyone a sense of who I am, and what I am all about. Do feel absolutely free to leave comments or post questions. Wedding Anniversary: Ghazali + Aini

He’s always able to crack a joke and she’s always there anticipating for one, breaking into giggles & laughter whenever he does crack one. :) He always have something to talk about while she’s usually the quiet observer. This couple is like check & balance of each other. ;)

What’s even more wonderful is that they’re one of my closest friends I ever had. And they’re one of the brainiest friends I’ve ever had too!  Cos one’s a Geologist while the other one is a Gynecologist! Awesome eh! :D In fact, Aini was the one who guided & took care of us throughout my pregnancy journey. She’s the first person to touch my Little Haley as she helped bring her out into this world.

Ghaz & Aini celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary last year (I know… this is a VERY LATE entry! :P ) and I offered to document their little moments together as a memory to be treasured for endless time. They hesitated at first but I’m really glad they accepted and we had a blast of a time filled with lots of laughter & giggles all the way. How can we not with Ghaz around! Hahaha… :D

They had 3 wonderful sons of which two of them were my youngest scuba diving student. Their eldest is currently studying in Australia, hence he’s not able to make it for this family photography session with us. But we’re planning to have another one the next time he’s back! Now let’s meet the two youngest ones.

Ooh Baby: Lil’ Ethan l Petaling Jaya l Malaysia

I was cleaning & re-organizing my hard-drives and I came upon this set of photos which I took quite some time back. I meant to blog about this little boy but it just slipped my mind somehow.

Mommy L was my scuba diving student many many many years back. Although we do keep in contact once in a blue-moon via emails, it’s only after we added each other on Facebook did we kept in touch much more often! One fine day, Mommy L told me that she would like me to document some of her little boy’s moments and I was ecstatic! Words cannot describe how I felt when I saw her little boy. I mean… I’ve known his mommy while she was still single, and now she’s a mommy herself! :)

Mommy L left her fulltime job and became a fulltime mother, dedicating all her time & energy for her little boy. She has successfully breastfed Little Ethan till the age of 1-year. She’s done so much research on parenting and I was so glad I get to chat with her for tips & ideas on how to handle my own little girl.

Anyway… meet Little Ethan! He was almost 10-month old when these portraits were taken. He’s already crawling at the speed of a choo-choo train and he can climb up & down anything that is as tall as himself!

Alright… let me share with you some of the moments I’ve managed to capture at their home.

Winner Announcement: ALP’s Birthday Contest 2010

Hola!

Apologies for the long silence since my last post. Was taking most of the time resting my eyes in hope to gain my eyesight back to normal again. At the current moment, I’ve gained almost 80% – 90% vision back but it still fluctuates from time to time on an hourly basis. God knows when I’ll be able to see normally again but I’ve been told it can be as early as tomorrow or as late as 6 months time!

Anyway… On the brighter note, Little Haley and I celebrated our birthdays recently on 26th March 2010 at the luxurious island resort called Pangkor Laut Resort. We had such a wonderful time with endless good food, beautiful weather, breath-taking scenery, warm & friendly services and most important of all, intimate company of family & friends. I’ll blog more about the resort & Little Haley’s portrait session in another posts. ;)

Meantime, I’d like to make an official announcement of the result for ALP’s Birthday Contest organized recently. The public has decided and we’ve got a WINNER!
