Hello!
I am a Malaysian female photographer based in Kuala Lumpur/Selangor that loves any kind of photography listing from nature to skyscrapers, especially portraitures for newborn babies, toddlers, pregnant families, couples & families as well as weddings & events.
I am also an avid scuba diver which enables me to capture amazing underwater images from all around the world.
This blog follows both my professional life (as well as) some of my personal life, featuring MOMENTS from the maternity & newborn sessions, weddings & beautiful people I managed to capture with my lens, the places I travel and the friends and family members that mean so much to me.
This blog will also serve as my photography website, featuring my work & information of available services from yours truly.
It also contains random information source for my current and potential clients as I’ll (from time to time) provide some useful links of wedding tips & what-nots for your ”surfing” pleasures. I hope this blog will also be a source of inspiration and education for other photographers.
This site is a little more informal and I just want to give everyone a sense of who I am, and what I am all about. Do feel absolutely free to leave comments or post questions. You can also contact me for other booking enquiries. Thank you for visiting and REMEMBER to stay updated with Asther Lau Photography’s Blog by subscribing to our RSS feed!

And mine’s filled with my baby! Literally! Hahaha… After my recent featured article on Chiq Clicks, I decided that it’ll be fun to compile all the drawer shots I’ve done to share with you all here.
So here goes…

My very first drawer shot with my baby girl, Haley when she was just 4-month old.

With a wooden drawer

Little Jeen How in one of his parents' drawer.

Little Chermaine in a drawer from her baby wardrobe.

Little Angela in a drawer from one of her God-Mother's plastic cabinet.

Little Joey in a drawer from her parents' TV cabinet

Little Jia Hao in a drawer from her parent's built-in bedroom cabinet.
So there! The next time you decide to engage me for your baby portrait session, bring a drawer and you’ll put me in photography heaven! Hahaha…
Hmmm… I think my next project will be with flower pots! Any takers?

Hello there! I’ve been really bad lately for not updating this blog. I’m so so so sorry! My life’s been busy busy busy with more photo shoots and so along with it, a loooong line of editing series began. My stress level is currently rising due to the many editing deadlines amidst my mommy-hood duties at home. But I do thank God that I still have a job & getting more bookings which means more income into the household. My Little Haley’s endless hugs & kisses kept me sane and happy, and so… yah! I’m a VERY lucky gal indeed.
Anyway… today I’m stealing some time away from my tight schedule to give a heads-up to you, my readers & friends, on an article I’ve contributed for a new blog for women photographers called Chiq Clicks. I’m sharing some tips on how to photograph babies & children based on my own experience, so head on over & I hope you’ll find it helpful & interesting.
I’d love to hear what you think as well, so do feel free to leave some in the comment section.

I’ll try to update this blog sometime soon, so hang on tight & come back soon! Till then, have a great week ahead!
Hugs,
Asther

Portraiture | 2 June 2010
They’re a very quiet (but smiley) pair from Australia. We shared the same flight during our recent trip to Layang-Layang Island Resort. They also share the same dive boat as ours throughout the stay. Garry was a little more chatty whilst Jane prefers to listen & smile. They eventually warmed up to our presence and we became good friends, sharing what we love, scuba diving & the underwater realms. Overall, I find this pair a very friendly bunch indeed!
They’ve been dating for almost a decade and this portrait session is their very first experience as a couple. As the sunset lighting is ever so gorgeous on this island, we quickly grab the chance of having a few portrait captured for these two. These moments we captured in less than 20 mins in the vicinity of the dive resort.
Hope you like them!

Welcome!

Love that look he gave her! Full of adoration!

This makes me smile!

Can't resist but to get them down low with the wildflowers!

*heart*

They're just so beautiful together!
Thank you Garry & Jane for such a wonderful friendship. Hope we’ll meet again one day and share our scuba diving passion together once more! Take good care of each other!
