Asther Lau

Hello!

I am a Malaysian female photographer based in Kuala Lumpur/Selangor that loves any kind of photography listing from nature to skyscrapers, especially portraitures for newborn babies, toddlers, pregnant families, couples & families as well as weddings & events.

I am also an avid scuba diver which enables me to capture amazing underwater images from all around the world.

This blog follows both my professional life (as well as) some of my personal life, featuring MOMENTS from the maternity & newborn sessions, weddings & beautiful people I managed to capture with my lens, the places I travel and the friends and family members that mean so much to me.

This blog will also serve as my photography website, featuring my work & information of available services from yours truly. :)

It also contains random information source for my current and potential clients as I’ll (from time to time) provide some useful links of wedding tips & what-nots for your ”surfing” pleasures. I hope this blog will also be a source of inspiration and education for other photographers.

This site is a little more informal and I just want to give everyone a sense of who I am, and what I am all about. Do feel absolutely free to leave comments or post questions. You can also contact me for other booking enquiries. Thank you for visiting and REMEMBER to stay updated with Asther Lau Photography’s Blog by subscribing to our RSS feed!

Ooh Baby: Little Ryleigh l Pulau Pinang l Malaysia

Babies, Family, Portraiture | 28 July 2010

Remember my first travel assignment to Penang Island earlier this year? Well… I totally forgot to blog about the cutie pie I got to spend the whole day with during my trip there. My bad! :P But it’s never too late, right? ;)

Mommy J contacted me months earlier & after “tonnes” of emails exchanges, we finally set a date for me to travel up to her in Penang & document her little girl’s daily moments as well as some of her baby’s portraits. We had lots of fun dressing her up that day! :D And she’s such a doll to let us do so & was a star infront of my camera!

She was 7-month old when these portraits were taken but I’ve never met such a chubby baby till that day! Mommy J was breastfeeding her exclusively and what a brilliant job she’s done! *thumbs up*

When I arrived at their sweet home, Little Ryleigh had just woken up & was playing with her mommy in the bedroom.

Ooh Baby: Little Shuen l Kuala Lumpur l Malaysia

Babies, Family, Portraiture | 17 July 2010

Remember newborn baby Shuen? Her ever jolly parents brought their little girl for another photo session with me recently.  She just turned 11-month old when these portraits were taken. Look at how much she’s grown! :D We were blessed with such pretty late afternoon sun that day. *bliss*

For the rest of the session, Little Shuen preferred to be in her parents’ arms. So we continued on with more family portraits. :) Daddy Y & Mommy K were soooo good with her, making her smile & laugh all the time.

Daddy, I want a kiss too! ;)

Mommy K decided to leave her professional job & started her own home-based financial consultant services. This is so that she can have more time with her little girl & see her grow. She’s also breastfeeding Little S fulltime till this very moment! A very dedicated mommy!

Ooh Baby: Little Jeen How l Petaling Jaya l Malaysia

Babies, Family, Portraiture | 16 July 2010

I’ve been meaning to share this little fella’s baby portrait session earlier but somehow it got delayed until today. :P   Meet Little J & his wonderful parents!

Daddy W called his little boy as “The Boss” and Mommy C nicknamed him “Cow-Boy”. ;) Hahaha… such lovely parents indeed! Little J greeted me with such a huge smile & we started the photo session with a drawer prop his parents brought along.

We were nearby a bicycle stand & I saw this beautiful yellow bike among the other bicycles parked there. I couldn’t resist!

Then we drove around the neighborhood & I saw a little field of wildflowers on an undeveloped land. I was ecstatic! Daddy W wasn’t too sure of my choice of location at first but he came along nevertheless! Good thing he did cos these are the results from the “field trip”. Hehehe…

Then Little J started getting all cranky but we managed to bribe him with baby biscuits to last the remaining session. :P Daddy & Mommy brought another prop and we all agreed it’s our favorite prop of the day! ;)

Little J has this really cute expression when he dislikes something and his parents was telling me that they never get the chance to capture that expression on their camera. However, Little J decided to give me a chance & I quickly took it! ;)

*huff huff* I dont like! *puff puff*
*huff huff* I don’t want to walk on the ground, daddy! *puff puff*

I was literally jumping up & down for joy when I managed to capture this special moment for his parents. I think my own crazy antic shocked Daddy & Mommy that day. Hehehe… :P

I’d like to thank my beloved hubby for tagging along & helping out during this session. ♥ I love you, Darling!

We had such a great time & we parted as friends that day. Hope to catch up again one day, Daddy W & Mommy C! THANK YOU so so much for your constant moral support. Take good care of each other now. *hugs*
