Asther Lau

With my precious little girl. :)

Hello!

I am a Malaysian female photographer based in Kuala Lumpur/Selangor that loves any kind of photography listing from nature to skyscrapers,  ESPECIALLY portraitures for newborn babies, toddlers, pregnant families, couples & families as well as weddings & events.

I am also an avid scuba diver which enables me to capture amazing underwater images from all around the world.

This blog follows both my professional life (as well as) some of my personal life, featuring MOMENTS from the maternity & newborn sessions, weddings & beautiful people I managed to capture with my lens, the places I travel and the friends and family members that mean so much to me.

This blog will also serve as my photography website, featuring my work & information of available services from yours truly. :)

It also contains random information source for my current and potential clients as I’ll (from time to time) provide some useful links of wedding tips & what-nots for your ”surfing” pleasures. I hope this blog will also be a source of inspiration and education for other photographers.

This site is a little more informal and I just want to give everyone a sense of who I am, and what I am all about. Do feel absolutely free to leave comments or post questions. You can also contact me for other booking enquiries. Thank you for visiting and REMEMBER to stay updated with Asther Lau Photography’s Blog by subscribing to our RSS feed!

Bump to Pop!: Dave + Kelly = Shevaune

Babies, Couple, Family, Portraiture, Pre-Natal | 21 February 2011

Daddy D and Mommy K are such a sweet couple. I love their immaculate little home which has plenty of natural light pouring inside. I for one, totally believes in the good “chi” the natural sunlight brings into one’s home, and I can tell you their home has the feel of good chi all around. :)

They’re also one giggly couple, and that makes my job so much easier in capturing their happy moments together. :)

:D

And alas! They celebrated the birth of their little princess, Shevaune a few weeks after the maternity session was done. Baby S was too excited for her photo session that she stayed awake most of the time. She was slightly more than 2 weeks old when these were captured.

10 Things ~My Favorite FOOD~

Family, Personal, Toddler | 18 February 2011

Tis the season with lots of eating & drinking, what with the recent Chinese New Year celebration & my family trip to Hong Kong. :D So, today’s post is an inspiration from the things that make me (and my tummy) very happy. ;) My favorite glorious FOOD!  I enjoy food (and drinks) in every opportunity (except when I’m sick & lost my appetite). ;) I’m finding it hard to choose for this post but after some pondering, here’s my top 10 list in no particular order.

  • CHOCOLATE! Be it in bars, in a recipe, in a drink. Anything that screams CHOCOLATE!
  • Ice Cream! (yup… you guessed it… chocolate flavor tops it all!) ;)
  • For fruits, I’m juggling between peaches and mangoes
  • For vegetables, hmmm… Grilled Asparagus with butter!
  • Mum’s lamb racks
  • Mum’s glutinous rice aka “loh ma kai”
  • Riblee’s Classic American Babyback Ribs
  • Banana Leaf Rice from Kana’s Curry House
  • Cakes! Be it cheese, CHOCOLATE, or anything that’s yummy fruity with buttercream. :D
  • Beef Brisket Noodles (specifically from Hong Kong! Hahaha…)

Can’t go without any photos so here are a few from our recent trip to Hong Kong Disneyland. If I find time (a BIG IF), I might share more pics from the trip here on the blog.

My Little Mouse (but I call her Tinker Bell now). ;)

And finally a photo of ME! I know I seldom post up images of myself so here’s one I feel has passed the “blog-worthy” grades. ;)

Testing ~ Comments Feature

Personal | 17 February 2011

Okay… this post is a bit different today. I’ve been told by one of my blog reader recently that my “Comment” feature is just not working for her. So I need your help, dearest readers. To test the feature for me. It’s simple. Just click “Leave a Comment” right underneath this post and write “Test” or if you’d like, just a simple note to me. :)

Then, you’ll need to go through a SPAM security feature before you can get your entry through by choosing THREE similar images as instructed.

The Comment feature with SPAM filter

Let’s see of where the problem is… let’s hope it’s nothing. Appreciate your help, dearest friends. :)

So here goes…

UPDATE:

Found the problem! Seems like many misunderstood or missed the SPAM Filter feature below the comment box. As not many has this unique feature of “clicking on desired images” as their SPAM filter on the blogs, I guess many just didn’t realize about the feature actually existed here at all!

SO I’ve re-phrased the instructions & hopefully this will make it clearer & easier for future readers to submit their comments for me here. :) AND YES! I do love comments from you all. *hint hint*
