I’ve been struggling with time management, especially for my work these past few weeks. The amount of backlog is piling up beyond controllable state, and I’m drowning. Clients are waiting for their images to be edited & delivered, whilst I had to peel myself away from my working hours to deal with the said unexpected situations. I had to pull extra hours after midnight so I can get some work done which pretty much made me a zombie after a few days.

Well… things are starting to settle again, although not everything yet. As I’m typing this, my girl’s in the bedroom sleeping with a mild fever AGAIN. Just few days after she recovered from her cough & flu. I’m dumbfounded. What have I done wrong? She’s been sick 1 week, well 1 week, then sick another week, well just few days, then sick again???

Then I realized this IS the life of a mother who loves her child so much so that she’d do anything for her child. As I also realized I’ve not updated this blog for such a long time, I thought to myself, it’s time to just post something which is close to heart. Motherhood.

In the midst of all that had happened, I’ve forgotten my plan to post a Mother’s Day post! Then I told myself, Motherhood should be celebrated on a daily basis. Cos a mother’s job does not have a schedule. So here’s wishing all mothers (and mothers-to-be) a Blessed Mother’s Day 2011. Everyday…

We as mothers will continue to be strong, tirelessly juggling between everything that is important in our lives, in our child’s life, in our family’s life. I’m lucky I have a strong network of mommy friends who are always there to support me, mostly emotionally. Even a short message of “Be Strong” or “You can do it!” or “Hugs” does an amazing effect of bringing back all the determination, strength & strong will to continue our battle in mommy-land. So I thank you, my friends. You know who you are… without you, I would probably have gone insane.

Here are two photos I’ve taken during our recent Mother’s Day Mini Session. Both families belong to two of my dear supportive friends. The designs of these Mother’s Day e-card were complimentary from The Coffee Shop Blog.

I’ll be on a solo trip to Australia next week, attending a baby posing workshop, as well as take some time off for my personal time. This will be my first, being away from my girl for more than a day. Not too sure how I’d fare, but I pray God will guide the way. Please please keep my baby safe, from any illness, any danger, both physical & mental. Oh I know I’m going to miss her like crazy. But I guess this is what I need to do for myself.

I may not be able to check my emails or do much work while I’m away, but am hoping to finish up a huge amount of work before I leave. Please pray that my Haley’s fever will be gone by morning, so I can continue my concentration on carrying on this work task.

Will try to update this blog again as soon I can. Maybe with some travel pics. I’ve got so many baby & pregnancy & family sessions to share here but I doubt I’d be able to do all, so if you’d like to see my latest work, check out my galleries or head on over to my Facebook Page for more frequent updates.

• “Mommy & Me” ~ Happy, huggy, giggly portrait of mommy & child/ren.
• Daughter wearing mommy’s favorite thing. ie: reading glasses, necklace, shoes (yup, oversize but still cute), bag, etc.
• Daughter/son holding mommy’s favorite thing. ie: hand-phone, camera, laptop, sewing kit, cooking/baking tools, etc.

This mini-session will be a great Mother’s Day gift for your mother or wife (or pregnant wife!). Even for yourself! Grandmas-grannies are welcome too! Sessions are by appointment only and space will be limited, so hurry & write-in to have your slot booked to avoid disappointment.

I seldom do studio shoots but if there’s a demand for it, I might offer some more mini-sessions in 2011. Well, at least will try to offer Christmas Mini-Sessions on an annual basis. Hope you enjoyed these portraits as much as I enjoyed taking them. I was on crutches as my left leg was fractured a few weeks back but I’m truly thankful for such a loving husband who single handed-ly setup the studio for me that day. Not forgetting my own precious mother who has been taking care of the household ever since I was temporary “disabled”. She tirelessly took care of my ever active daughter while I was healing & busy working. Thank you Mum!

Will try to post some more hopefully before Christmas. Till then, happy shopping & preparing for the festive dinner!

Time: 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. (mini-session spots will be allocated within this time)

Location: At my place in SS2, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. (indoor & outdoor options available)

Here are the details:

Christmas Mini-Session Package = RM280 which includes:

♥ 15-20 minutes session
♥ 5 high resolution digital photos (to be emailed to you after editing)
♥ 3 (Christmas designs) x 5 (holiday ornament cards) = 15 holiday ornament cards for your Christmas tree decoration!

Each session can include up to maximum 6 person but the number of people per portrait is at the discretion of the photographer. This is because we will have limited space to accommodate such a big group when it comes to certain angle & pose required, especially if it’s an indoor studio set-up.

Bring your own outfit if you want. (we have some outfits for babies but VERY limited selection & sizing)

♥ if you don’t have anything for your baby, birthday suit with a cute hat will be cutielicious enough!

♥ red and green scarfs, Christmas hats or socks, anything which shouts Christmas will also do!

Another of my idea of flower tossing action. Adeline was an excellent actress!

I know this series lack many other elements which can make my work pops even more. Upon doing more research & comparing this series with other international photographer pros, I decided what I’ve achieved so far is just a tinie-winnie bit to what I can do in the future. I’ll continue learning & improving my capabilities and skills. And especially to broaden my creativity aspect of photography & people. The Sky is the Limit!

Oh well… I’d have posted a few more images of Adeline, especially of the delicious details on the dresses and of her sweet sweet smiles but I realised only moments ago that the idiot me accidentally saved my work in my other hard disk and not on this laptop! Arrrggghhh!

Never mind… Will post some more up on my Flickr page and pretty soon on my  new photography website which will be officially launched pretty soon! So stay tuned and in the meantime, drop me a line or two, ya!

P/S: I’m currently back in Kuching to be with mum as coming Monday will be one year since daddy left us unexpectedly. Past few days was kind of like a roller-coaster ride on my emotional state when I remember back of what happened exactly a year ago.

I woke up really early (which is not normal for me UNLESS I’m working of course!) & went down to a morning market nearby where I stay, hoping to get some really nice fresh roses for the shoot. However, the florist didn’t have much selection that morning, so I decided to drive down to Petaling Street for more flower shopping! I LOVE all the florists in Petaling Street! SOOOOOO many different flowers to choose from and they’re cheap cheap cheap! Hehehe…

And I managed to make one hand bouquet right before leaving for the studio. Did I tell you that I made my own hand bouquets & corsages for my wedding in KL last year? Too bad I didn’t get the chance to shoot with the hand bouquet cos time constraints & there were like 4 of us shooters taking turns on the lighting system with ONE model. Sigh…

Anyway… we had great fun with the flowers I bought, as well as other silly stuffs that we could get our hands on from the studio for the model to play with… *wink*

Here are 2 of my favorite shots from the day of Adeline Lee, the 1st runner up of Malaysian Dreamgirl 1st Online Series 2008. She’s just so photogenic & a wonderful model to work with… I love her soft yet flexible personality. Oon loves her smile! Hahaha…

Hehehe… nope… it’s not a shot for ACER advertising. Just that Oon (one of us photographer at the shoot) owns this laptop & he came up with the idea as another prop for Adeline to play with for our shoot.

Isn’t she lovely? Yup… one of the flowers I bought as another prop for our shoot. *wink*

So what do you think? Not so bad for a first timer, eh? ;) I know I know… Self Praise Is NO Praise. Hehehe… But I’d love to hear what you think bout my work here.
